To Be Seen

Hello!
On the advice of my dear friend, Wanjiru, I created a personal website. Found here:
Cher Lytle on Wix

I will still be posting the blog portion on this blogger site, but it's linked to the blog page there on the wix site. Easy Peesy.

I hope you take a look around the wix site. Check out the pages, the videos, the pictures and all that jazz. I'm going to be using it more for.... how would you call it... job generating, generating a job, for myself. To help me find gigs and such. As everyone else in the world, I needs to find me some paying work!

So, look around, enjoy, give me some feedback! I'd really appreciate it!

That's A Wrap! (With principle photography)

Hey there!! It's been a couple of days, and I finally feel more like myself. I can finally look back on this weekend and reflect. First, the reality that I actually filmed this short I started thinking about years ago, kind of blows my mind. Yes, I have filmed things before, I've had a webseries, music videos, other short films - but this was so much different. This time it was personal.

The weekend leading up to the shoot weekend was a freakin' busy blur of picking things up and locking things down. Lights, gear, props, crafty, lunches, people, things. I stayed up late a few nights making more fairies when I realized I didn't have nearly enough. Scrounging my house of anything to fill out the set (and thank you Emily, for helping with that!!). It was a stressful few days leading up to the shoot. Saturday morning came and everyone showed, and they brought everything they said they would. I was overwhelmed. I try to be a positive person, but living in reality L.A., it some times is a challenge. Everyone showed. It was freakin awesome!!

Principle photography wrapped on Sunday afternoon. I couldn't be happier. Only, maybe once did I say to myself, 'I should have done it THAT way.' But it's not a big deal, just an after thought. But I realized today, I'm not across the finish line, there is no finish line. I still need for this to get edited, and VFX'd, and color corrected, and audio remixed - then get in front of peoples faces that have nothing to do with the project. I need to keep moving, and creating. It's exciting!!

Next up, the green screen shoot!  Until then, here are some picks from the shoot this weekend.
Thanks again to everyone to contributed money, time and gear! I'm so grateful!!

A Little Somethin' Somethin'

Would you like a little something for you time? Actually, let me rephrase that, would you like a little something for your donation??

So, in my last post I mentioned that I smell like clay. I've been making little fairies in jars. For the first 5 people who donate $150., besides the perks listed on the IndieGoGo page (Found Here) I will send you one of these adorable, hand made from the director, depressed fairies .

There's only 5.

All you have to do is click on the donate button just to the right of this post, send me your contact info in a comment, and I'll get in touch with you! Easy Peeasy!

The first 5 get them, so donate now!

Welcome To The Jungle

We're getting into the last week of prep, and I think I'm officially going gray. Pieces are falling into place, or I'm making them fit into place. Nearly all the crew is crewed, I'm hopefully going to be locking a location soon, and I'm spending every extra moment I have making miniature fairies. I smell like clay. But it's coming together, and I believe my nervousness is competing with excitement.

The lack of money really does make a difference, it's amazing how quickly it's getting spent. I have so many things earmarked as necessary, and they definitely are. Must have drives, must have food, must have costumes! But, on the flip side so many awesome, AWESOME people are donating their time and equipment. I really am thankful to everyone who has stepped up and donated what they can. I'm astonished and blown away by this generosity. Whenever I think about what I need, with what little I have, I remind myself of all these fantastic people who have given so much, so far. I've got some pretty remarkable people in my life.

Anyway, last week. I've got so much on my mind I'm not sure what to say. If you still want to donate - please feel free to do so by clicking the donation button on the top. I will try to keep up with the posts. Thanks again, everyone, I'm so glad there are people like you out there in the world!!

What is THIS? (Almost top right)

This, my dear readers, is a donation button. This is specifically for lovely generous people who were either unable to contribute at the time the IndieGoGo campaign was going on, or missed all the posts about it.  The campaign is sadly over, but I have set up a paypal account for anyone wanting to still give to this wonderful short film!

Not sure what to do with that federal tax refund? The excess winnings from the Powerball lottery? The sudden windfall of cash from that odd wealthy stranger that left you everything in his will? I have an idea! Donate it, baby! I'm still in need of moolah for The Collector. I've said this before, it's getting made, no matter what, but having money would really REALLY help.

Right now we're in the midst of pre-pro. Staffing, gearing, finding props, my costume designer has come up with new concepts. Look!

Pretty freakin' awesome! The next thing on the big agenda is finding props. Please don't make me go dumpster diving to find things.... Because I will.

Anyway, the long and short of it is - you can still contribute if you want to! Click on that little button and give what you are comfortable with and I will appreciate and love you forever (as friends, or course - let's not get crazy). Thank you for your time, your donation, and your awesome support!!

My Actors

I want to do an official 'announcement' on my blog (because that makes it official) of my main actors.
I can't tell you the parts they play, that would give away too much of the story.

But here they are:

Philip Lester. I've worked with Phil on a few projects, he's a wonderful actor and an awesome friend! If he looks familiar it's probably because you've seen him in "Where The Truth Lies" "24" and "CSI: Miami"

Tim Trobec. Tim has been in many of my crazy shorts, along with Phil in "Undercover 5-0 Heat" I'm sure you've seen Tim in either "The Riches" "Criminal Minds" "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" or one of his many commercial appearances.

Heather Moody. Heather was in one of the very first music videos I directed (actually co-directed with Padraic Culham). She is a talented actress and dancer and a member of the L.A. dance troupe The Satin Dollz.

Thanks guys, for lending me your talents again and helping me with The Collector!
